Chevrolet unveils new S10 Trail Boss pickup with enhanced off-road focus

Chevrolet is set to launch a new iteration of its S10 pickup truck, the Trail Boss, in July, aiming to capture the market segment focused on off-road adventures. Unveiled at AgroActiva, this new version promises significantly enhanced off-road capabilities compared to its stablemates.

Developed in collaboration with General Motors' high-performance division, the S10 Trail Boss boasts modifications to its suspension and vehicle geometry. Andrés Carfagna, Commercial Director for GM Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay, stated that these adjustments are calibrated to provide an optimal balance between off-road capacity, daily usability, comfort, and safety.

Key features include a unique technical suspension setup with front and rear springs and shock absorbers specifically tuned for this configuration, raising the front of the vehicle by 30mm. It will also be equipped with 18-inch Scorpion All Terrain tires, a redesigned front grille, a black gloss finish on the rear bumper, more pronounced fenders, and exclusive wheel designs. The interior is also set to receive a dedicated design treatment.

Under the hood, the S10 Trail Boss is powered by a 2.8L turbodiesel engine delivering 207 horsepower and 510 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a 4x4 drivetrain. While specific pricing details have not yet been released, the Trail Boss will be integrated into the existing S10 range, which includes the High Country, LTZ, and WT models in single and double cab configurations.
