Child killed, woman injured in suspected quadcopter attack in Pakistan's Bajaur

A nine-year-old boy was killed and a woman injured in what police are describing as a suspected quadcopter drone attack in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The incident took place Sunday in the Inam Khoro Chinagi area of Bajaur's War Mamund tehsil.

According to police sources, the drone is believed to have fired from an unidentified location, striking the home of a local resident named Hayatullah. The young victim, Mehran, died from his injuries, while another family member, Tahira Bibi, sustained injuries. Both were transported to the District Headquarters Hospital in Khar.

Police officials confirmed that an investigative team visited the site and collected evidence. "An investigation is now under way," one official stated. This incident marks the most recent in a string of similar quadcopter attacks reported in the Bajaur district.

Just last month, on May 21, two schoolchildren were killed in a quadcopter drone strike in a hilly area of Bajaur. These repeated attacks highlight ongoing security concerns in the region.
