Chile sends six tons of humanitarian aid to Bolivia

Chile has dispatched a second flight carrying six tons of humanitarian aid to Bolivia, seeking to mitigate the effects of the neighboring country's ongoing social and political challenges. This significant aid delivery is a collaborative effort involving Chile's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of Defense, and the Air Force (FACh).

The Hercules aircraft departed from Chile carrying essential supplies destined for the El Alto International Airport in La Paz. Chilean Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francisco Pérez Mackenna, emphasized Chile's commitment to supporting its "neighboring and friendly countries" in times of need. He stated, "Chile will always support neighboring and friendly countries that require our cooperation. That is why we continue to help the Bolivian people through the situation they are going through."

Beyond providing material assistance, Chile also used the occasion to reiterate its political stance. The Chilean government expressed its support for the Bolivian government and issued a call for dialogue and peaceful resolution of the crisis. Furthermore, Chile reaffirmed its "unrestricted respect for democratic institutions."

This latest aid mission follows a previous delivery on May 21, which included food and basic necessities. These operations collectively aim to establish an air bridge of cooperation, offering direct relief to Bolivian families facing difficult circumstances. The consistent support underscores the strong bilateral relationship and Chile's proactive role in regional stability.
