China Offers Sea Cable Detection Tech to Clients in Middle East, Europe, and Asia

China is set to export sophisticated robots designed to locate marine cables buried beneath the seabed, targeting markets in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. This strategic move aims to solidify China's standing in the global marine equipment sector.

The advanced robots, developed by a team at Dalian Jiaotong University, are capable of pinpointing cables buried under silt with a positioning error of less than 5 percent. They can also cover exposed cables with sediment for protection. These machines are engineered for continuous operation at depths of up to 300 meters and can maintain stability even in turbulent ocean currents.
