China Sends 22 Aircraft, Vessels Near Taiwan; Military on Alert

Taipei, Taiwan – China conducted a significant show of force around Taiwan, deploying 22 military aircraft and vessels in the 24 hours leading up to Friday morning. The People's Liberation Army's activities included 10 military aircraft that crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait, entering Taiwan's northern, central, southwestern, and eastern airspace.

Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense reported the incursions, detailing the movements of various aircraft, including helicopters operating in the southeast and southwest sectors. Additionally, eight warships and four coast guard vessels were detected operating in the waters around Taiwan.

Taiwan's military stated it is maintaining a high level of readiness, employing its own aircraft, naval vessels, and shore-based missile systems to closely monitor and respond to the Chinese military activities. The ministry emphasized its commitment to safeguarding Taiwan's sovereignty and security amidst the ongoing pressure.
