Chinese Ambassador Thanks Korean Rescue Team for Saving Chinese National in Nepal

Chinese Ambassador to South Korea Dai Bing called the rescue of a Chinese national in Nepal “a miracle of life” ten days after the disaster, thanking the Korean and Nepali teams involved.

Dai said on X that one Chinese citizen had been safely rescued from an area affected by landslides and flooding along the China-Nepal border. He expressed “deep gratitude and respect” to both countries’ rescue teams.

The Korea Disaster Relief Team rescued the survivor on the previous day from a tunnel at a hydroelectric power plant near the Weir Dam in Nepal, according to South Korea’s Foreign Ministry. The team also recovered one body whose nationality had not been identified.

Dai said he sincerely hoped that all people from different countries who remained isolated by the disaster would be rescued safely and able to return home. The operation marked the ninth survivor rescue since the KDRT was established.
