Chinese cars attract buyers with price and design, but repairs could take up to a year

Chinese cars are making rapid inroads into the European market, including Latvia, attracting buyers with low prices, generous equipment and eye-catching design.

But the purchase decision does not end at the showroom, warns Kaspars Viļumsons, head of auto and motorcycle parts distributor Inter Cars Latvija. He urged buyers to consider what happens when the vehicle needs repairs.

The key questions, he said, are how long customers may have to wait and whether the necessary spare parts will be available. The warning highlights a potential after-sales concern as Chinese brands expand their presence.
