Chinese Team All Gamers Wins Esports World Cup 2026

The Chinese team All Gamers has claimed victory in the third edition of the Esports World Cup, a major video game tournament that concluded Sunday in Paris after seven weeks of competition. All Gamers dethroned the Saudi team Team Falcons, who had won the previous two titles. The French team Vitality secured third place, mirroring their performance from last year.

The final victory was decided in the racing game Trackmania, where Frenchman Gwendal "Gwen" Duparc emerged as the winner, securing the championship title for his club and earning seven million dollars. The Esports World Cup (EWC), established in 2024 and financed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, has rapidly become a significant event in the global esports calendar.

This year's competition brought together over 2,000 players from approximately 200 clubs worldwide, competing in 24 different video games. The previous two editions were held in Saudi Arabia, a country that has become a central player in the esports sector. However, organizers announced in May the relocation of the 2026 edition due to the war in the Middle East, with the 2027 event expected to return to Riyadh.

The closing ceremony, held at the Grand Palais, was attended by French President Emmanuel Macron and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who was on a two-day diplomatic visit to Paris. Macron presented the trophy to All Gamers' leadership, while the players celebrated with Cristiano Ronaldo, the event's ambassador. Numerous esports personalities, including "Zywoo" and "Niko" from Counter-Strike, and chess champion Magnus Carlsen, were present, alongside traditional sports figures like FIFA President Gianni Infantino and World Athletics President Sebastian Coe.
