Chino Huerta Returns to Pumas After Difficult European Stint

César "Chino" Huerta is set to begin a second chapter with Mexican club Pumas after a challenging stint in Europe with Belgian side Anderlecht. Huerta, who played only 38 matches for Anderlecht since January 2025, expressed a strong desire for redemption and aims to regain the form that earned him a spot on the Mexican national team and a move to European football.

Upon his return to Mexico, the skillful winger admitted he did everything possible to stay in Europe. He waited until nearly the transfer window's close, hoping for an opportunity, but ultimately, no offers materialized. Adding to the difficulties, Huerta revealed that Anderlecht completely sidelined him to force his departure. "At the club, they closed their doors on me, they told me they didn't count on me, they separated me from the group... I went through difficult weeks, but now I have a lot of hope with [returning to] Pumas," he confessed.
