CHP Eskişehir Provincial Directorate Refuses to Accept Resignation Letters, Claims Former Chairman

A significant political shift is underway in Eskişehir, Turkey, as former Republican People's Party (CHP) Provincial Chairman Talat Yalaz announced that 14 district chairmen have declared their support for Özgür Özel and the newly formed NEW Party. Yalaz stated that these district leaders, representing both central and rural areas of Eskişehir, have unequivocally aligned themselves with Özel and the NEW Party's vision.

Today, 12 valuable district chairmen from our 12 rural districts, along with the district chairmen of our two central districts, Tepebaşı and Odunpazarı, came together and held a meeting in full attendance. The stance, attitude, and will demonstrated by all the district chairmen here, and the organizations they represent, are clear.

Yalaz detailed a wave of resignations from the CHP, presenting statistics from several districts. In Han, out of 158 members, 115 have resigned, leaving only about 20-25 members. İnönü district saw over 200 resignations from its 280 members, while Mahmudiye reported around 200 resignations from 250 members. Yalaz asserted that the CHP base is collectively moving towards the NEW Party, rejecting any cooperation with the "palace" and demonstrating a clear will to pursue power.

I can say this for the will expressed here: myself and these 14 district chairmen are fully with Özgür Özel and the NEW Party, meaning all district chairmen of Eskişehir, both central and rural.

Adding to the turmoil, Yalaz accused the CHP Eskişehir Provincial Directorate of obstructing the resignation process. He claimed that numerous party members, particularly older ones unable to resign via e-Government, have prepared resignation letters but are allegedly being prevented from submitting them to the provincial office. Yalaz expressed his disappointment, calling the situation "shameful."

There is a speculative situation regarding resignations. This needs to be analyzed correctly. Our rural districts, as you know, are small districts, and their membership numbers are known. For example, when we left, there were 158 members in Han district, and 115 of them resigned.
