CHP official claims ministry personnel raided farm, took animal blood samples

Sencer Solakoğlu, head of the Republican People's Party's (CHP) Presidential Office Agriculture and Forestry Policy Board, has accused personnel from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of raiding his farm and taking blood samples from his animals. Solakoğlu stated that 14 individuals, identifying themselves as ministry personnel, entered his farm over two days and collected blood samples from all his animals.

He believes the sole purpose of this action is to intimidate him and force him to cease his criticisms. "Their only goal is to pressure me to abandon my criticisms. In the first election, I will come to that ministry and re-establish Turkey's food sovereignty, and you will not be able to stop this, know this," Solakoğlu declared on his social media account.

Solakoğlu also reported that an animal on his farm died after being trampled, allegedly caused by ministry personnel during the raid. He emphasized his nearly 20 years of experience in farming, stating that such an incident has never occurred before. "Not only did we not cause it to be trampled, but shouting at an animal is forbidden on our farm!" he asserted.

He reiterated that while annual checks are standard, the presence of 14 personnel and the alleged actions were excessive and aimed at intimidation. Solakoğlu positions himself as the "Shadow Agriculture Minister" for the CHP, vowing to address issues of food sovereignty if his party gains power.
