Chris Brown pleads guilty to affray in London nightclub incident

American singer Chris Brown has admitted to affray charges stemming from an alleged assault on a music producer in a London nightclub more than three years ago. The plea, entered on Friday, resolves a case that also included more serious charges, which the prosecution has now dropped.

Brown, 37, and his co-defendant Omololu Akinlolu, 40, admitted to using or threatening unlawful violence. Their behavior, as a whole, would have caused fear for personal safety, according to the prosecution. The incident allegedly occurred on February 19, 2023, at the Tape nightclub in London.

Both men had previously pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in June of the previous year. The prosecution confirmed these charges would not proceed. Brown and Akinlolu are scheduled for sentencing at the same court on October 26.
