Cicpc Investigates Murder of Young Basketball Player in Mérida

A young basketball fan lost his life after being fatally attacked with a knife on Sunday afternoon in Mérida, Venezuela. Luis Ángel Monsalve Moreno, 21, was the victim of the stabbing, which took place on July 19 in the La Carabobo urbanization within the Libertador municipality of Mérida state.

Officials from the Mérida branch of the Cuerpo de Investigaciones Científicas, Penales y Criminalísticas (Cicpc), responsible for investigating crimes against persons, responded to the scene. They gathered evidence and initiated an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal assault.

So far, authorities have refrained from releasing additional details regarding the case. The Cicpc is actively working to locate and apprehend the individual believed to be responsible for the stabbing. Preliminary reports indicate that Monsalve Moreno was a local resident and an avid basketball player.
