Clinton, B.C. under evacuation alert as Fiftynine Creek wildfire grows

The Village of Clinton, British Columbia, is on evacuation alert as the Fiftynine Creek wildfire, discovered July 17 and now spanning over 10,000 hectares, burns nearby. The Thompson Nicola Regional District has also issued expanded evacuation orders and alerts for the Bonaparte Plateau area due to the same fire, believed to be lightning-caused.

Residents under evacuation alert are urged to be ready to leave at a moment's notice.
