"Colisión": HBO Max releases teaser for delayed telenovela

After a year's delay, HBO Max has unveiled the teaser for "Colisión," its first telenovela, originally announced for release in 2025. The production, based on stories by Corín Tellado, promises to delve into the destructive impact of power and betrayal on what should be a safe family space.

The teaser offers a glimpse of the characters played by Margarita Rosa de Francisco and Macarena Achaga, who portray a mother and daughter. Despite sharing the same origins, their opposing worldviews create conflict as they vie for leadership of the family business. This struggle will test their power, loyalties, love, ambition, and personal limits.

My character is Macarena's best friend, but she's a bit treacherous and it was fun, because she's spoiled and mean-spirited, but at the same time, not entirely.

The series features an ensemble cast including Diego Klein, who plays Achaga's love interest, a wealthy young man fearful of losing her and willing to compromise his dignity. Klein described his character as ambivalent and a nuanced antagonist.

Samantha Acuña, playing Achaga's best friend, described her character as "a bit treacherous, fun, and mean-spirited, but not entirely." She acknowledged the long wait for the series but expressed confidence that producers chose the optimal release date.

"Colisión" is inspired by Corín Tellado's short stories "No le hagas caso a tu hija" (Don't Listen to Your Daughter) and "Cumplir tu condena" (Serve Your Sentence). The series is directed by Max Zunino, Mariano Ardanaz, and Laura Marco.
