A decade and a half of consistent effort has finally paid off for a group of 10 colleagues in the United Arab Emirates, who have hit the jackpot with a lottery win of 20 million dirhams (approximately $7.7 billion). Among the lucky winners is a 60-year-old Filipino baker who has been living in Dubai for over three decades.

Reynaldo Erbozo, the baker, and his colleagues, hailing from the Philippines, India, and Bangladesh, participated in the Abu Dhabi 'Big Ticket' lottery. They had made it a monthly ritual to purchase tickets together for the past 15 years, dreaming of a significant win. Their persistence culminated in a first-place victory in the recent draw, a moment Erbozo described as feeling like he had "the whole world."

The winning numbers were reportedly chosen by a Bangladeshi friend within the group, adding a collaborative element to their success. Erbozo shared his initial disbelief and immense joy upon hearing the news, stating, "I couldn't believe that I had really won first place after all that time."

When asked about their plans for the winnings, Erbozo indicated a thoughtful approach, preferring to make careful plans rather than rushing into spending. He also expressed his intention to continue participating in the lottery, hoping for another stroke of luck.
