Colombia heads to Kansas City to define World Cup Round of 16 spot against Ghana

The Colombian national football team is en route to Kansas City to finalize preparations for their crucial World Cup match against Ghana, where they will vie for a place in the round of 16. The squad concluded their training regimen in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with all players actively participating in the final session held at the Inter Miami facilities. Following a brief rest, the team departed for the airport on Wednesday afternoon.

The Colombian delegation is expected to arrive in Kansas City approximately five hours later. Head coach Néstor Lorenzo is scheduled to hold a press conference on Thursday, the eve of the pivotal encounter with Ghana. The team will utilize the stadium of MLS club Sporting Kansas City for their final preparations and will be staying in a high-end hotel in the city.

Colombia previously based their operations in Mexico before relocating to Florida for their final group stage match against Portugal in Miami. The presence in Miami was particularly significant, as the city hosts one of the largest Colombian expatriate communities, providing the team with a strong sense of home support. If Colombia advances past Ghana, they are slated to play the winner of the match between Switzerland and Algeria on July 7 in Vancouver.
