Colombian stars Shakira and Vergara offer support after devastating earthquake

A devastating 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck Colombia, leaving at least 132 people dead and hundreds injured. The tremor's epicenter was located near San Jose del Palmar in Chocó, with significant damage reported across several regions.

President Abelardo de la Espriella declared a national state of emergency and reported that over 1,500 houses were damaged, with 61 buildings completely collapsing. The hardest-hit areas included Pereira and Cali, where at least thirty structures reportedly crumbled, trapping people beneath the rubble. Operations at seven airports were suspended due to the extensive damage, impacting travel and aid efforts.
