The Colombian football community is in distress as Deportivo Pereira player Miguel Palacios remains missing following a powerful earthquake that struck the country. Palacios, a footballer for the top-flight club, returned to his neighborhood after a training session and has not been heard from since, raising grave concerns among teammates and club officials.

Deportivo Pereira's coach, Arturo Reyes, confirmed the worrying situation in a television interview. While assuring that the families of most players are safe and unharmed, Reyes highlighted the extensive damage to residential buildings, rendering many homes uninhabitable and preventing some families from returning.
