Company Fined Nearly 150 Million Dong, Eight Cosmetic Products Recalled for Violations

Kotrans Co., Ltd., based in Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Binh District, faces significant penalties totaling 147.5 million Vietnamese dong for multiple violations related to the labeling of cosmetic products sold by its Hanoi branch. The company's actions have led to a substantial fine and the recall of several items from the market.

The primary violations include selling the VT Reti-a Reedle Shot 700 with a label that omitted required information, resulting in a fine of 22.5 million dong. The value of this product already sold reached over 96.5 million dong. Furthermore, Kotrans was penalized another 70 million dong for marketing three other products, Torriden Cellmazing Pore Perfecting Ampoule, VT Cica Collagen mask, and Unove Deep Damage Repair Shampoo, with labels that inaccurately described their nature or true characteristics. The sales value for these mislabeled items exceeded 353 million dong.

In addition to the fines, Kotrans is mandated to recall these four mislabeled products and correct their labeling before they can be reintroduced into circulation. The company must also surrender all revenue generated from the sale of these non-compliant goods.

Further compounding the issue, Kotrans was fined an additional 55 million dong for selling four other cosmetic products, Cosrx The Retinol 0.5 Oil, Skinfood Yuja C Dark Spot Clear Cream, Skinfood Black Cherry Retinol 0.1 Eye Cream, and Paparecipe Collagen Peptide Serum, whose product information files (PIF) were incomplete according to legal requirements. These four products are also subject to recall and destruction due to these deficiencies, marking a significant regulatory action against the company.
