Computer predicts tough Champions League draw for Šeško and Oblak

A supercomputer has simulated the upcoming Champions League group stage, delivering a sobering forecast for Slovenian football stars Benjamin Šeško and Jan Oblak. The algorithm, analyzed by The Sun, suggests that Šeško's team will face formidable opponents, ultimately failing to secure a spot among the top eight teams advancing directly to the knockout rounds.

Šeško, who has scored six goals in 28 Champions League appearances for Salzburg and Leipzig across the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons, is part of a Red Bulls squad predicted to gather only 14.1 points. This tally is projected to place them ninth in their group, narrowly missing the cut for the round of 16, which historically has required around 16 points in the revamped competition format.

Meanwhile, Jan Oblak's Atletico Madrid is also bracing for a challenging season according to the projections. The computer model places Atletico Madrid as the 19th-ranked team, indicating they too are likely to be eliminated before the knockout stages. This prediction comes as Atletico is set to face Šeško's team in their group.
