Concepción market knife fight leads to one arrest

A violent altercation involving two men armed with knives at the municipal market in Concepción was captured on video and subsequently went viral. The incident occurred on a street near the market, witnessed by numerous bystanders who recorded the confrontation on their mobile phones.

National Police apprehended one of the individuals involved, identified as 19-year-old Yonatan Rolón López. He was found to be in possession of a knife and has a criminal record, including charges for aggravated theft and cattle rustling. Police reports indicate he also has an active arrest warrant for aggravated theft in another municipality.

The detained man reportedly told police the fight stemmed from a romantic dispute, as both men were involved with the same woman. The sub-chief of the involved police station, Pablo Vigil, relayed this information. Rolón López allegedly threatened to settle scores with his rival upon his release from custody. The second man involved in the fight remains at large.
