Concerns over Doctor's Death: Alumni Urge Probe into DPRD Members

The alumni association of the Faculty of Medicine at Nusa Cendana University (Undana) in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, is urging the police to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the death of Dr. Eliza Princila Utami Pakaenoni, known as Dr. Icha.

The alumni suspect that Dr. Icha's death is connected to alleged intimidation by members of the North Central Timor Regency Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD). "We ask that the National Police Chief form a special, independent team to handle this case, and disclose the investigation results openly to the public," stated Dr. Bilberton, a representative of the Undana FK Alumni Association, during a press conference.

Dr. Bilberton highlighted that several events occurred prior to Dr. Icha's death, prompting the call for a thorough police inquiry. The association specifically requested that the police investigate three members of the North Central Timor Regency DPRD, whom they allege intimidated Dr. Icha, leading her to feel pressured and potentially commit suicide.

Another Undana FK alumnus, Dr. Eky Gonang, added that individuals suspected of knowing about or being involved in the case should be summoned and questioned, regardless of their position. The alumni association also appealed to the public and media in NTT to monitor the case closely to ensure transparency.

The case has garnered significant attention, with the alumni association emphasizing the need for an open and impartial investigation to uncover the truth behind Dr. Icha's untimely death.
