KPK Arrests 10 in Riau Sting Operation

Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has apprehended 10 people in a sting operation in Kuantan Singingi, Riau province. The arrests, which began on Monday, June 29, 2026, targeted alleged corruption within the regional government.

Of the 10 individuals detained, five were transported to Jakarta for further intensive investigation. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo confirmed that these five include three individuals from the private sector and one civil servant from the Kuantan Singingi regional government, along with a family member of the civil servant.

During the operation, investigators seized electronic devices containing financial transaction data and a Mitsubishi Pajero vehicle. While the KPK has not yet detailed the specific identities of those arrested or the exact nature of the alleged bribery, Prasetyo indicated that the case centers on bribery for positions within the Kuantan Singingi regional government.

Investigators are currently gathering more information and questioning those involved to understand the full scope of the alleged corruption. The KPK continues to probe the matter, seeking to uncover further details about the bribery scheme.
