Confessed Killer of Zoila Castillo Had Five Prior Domestic Violence Complaints, Police Information Shows

The search for Zoila Castillo and her son, Eyal, ended tragically after their bodies were discovered in San Martín, Peru, two weeks after their disappearance. Zoila had traveled to meet Alexis Alcántara, her boyfriend, on May 16, and communication ceased shortly after her arrival. Her family's concern grew as Alcántara was the only one aware of her exact location.

Eyal Castillo's body was found first on May 27 in Tocache province, showing clear signs of violence. A burned cell phone, believed to be Zoila's, was found nearby. Two days later, on May 29, Zoila Castillo's body was discovered by local community patrols, bearing multiple injuries.

Authorities revealed that Alexis Alcántara, the main suspect, has a documented history of at least five domestic violence complaints from former partners. These include accusations of physical, psychological, economic, and patrimonial aggression, as well as property damage and theft. These past incidents are now being evaluated as part of the ongoing investigation into the double homicide that has shocked the nation.
