Construction worker dies from apparent electrocution on Bantul house ceiling

A construction worker has died after an apparent electrocution incident while working on the ceiling of a house in Bantul, Indonesia.

Sugiarto, 63, was discovered deceased on Friday afternoon in the Nitipuran area of Kasihan sub-district. His colleagues raised the alarm when his motorcycle remained at the work site after the end of the workday, prompting a search for his whereabouts.

Around 5:30 PM, a colleague named Wakimin learned that Sugiarto might be in the ceiling area. Wakimin climbed a bamboo ladder to check on him and found Sugiarto unresponsive. He called out to the victim multiple times without a response.

Upon closer inspection, Wakimin observed that Sugiarto's abdomen was not moving. He then sought assistance from another colleague, Agung Waluyo, who also confirmed Sugiarto was not moving. The two workers then descended and reported the incident to their project supervisor.
