Contractor fatally stabs three colleagues at Bombril factory in Brazil

A contractor fatally stabbed three colleagues at a Bombril factory in São Bernardo do Campo, an industrial hub in Brazil's São Paulo state, on Saturday. The assailant, who was reportedly suffering from psychological harassment at work, died by suicide in a police cell after his arrest.

The attack occurred early Saturday morning when the contractor, who was on his day off, entered the factory and attacked his colleagues. The victims included a 39-year-old inspector, a 44-year-old supervisor, and a 54-year-old forklift operator, all of whom died at the scene. Witnesses indicated the assailant may have been experiencing an emotional crisis.

Other employees at the plant subdued the attacker, who was then taken into custody. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of his death while in detention. The regional Public Security Secretariat confirmed the incident and the assailant's subsequent suicide.

Bombril issued a statement condemning the violence and expressing solidarity with the victims' families. The company stated it is cooperating with the investigation and providing assistance to those impacted by the tragedy.
