Contractor Selected for Togolok Deposit Construction

China Nerin Engineering Co., Ltd. has been appointed as the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the key production facilities at the Togolok gold deposit. The selection followed an open tender process, as announced by Kanimet Toktosunov, Chairman of the Management Board of CJSC "Kumtor Operating Company."

Toktosunov explained that China Nerin Engineering was chosen due to its significant international experience in similar projects. The company will undertake the "turnkey" construction, which encompasses the entire scope of work from design and equipment supply to installation and commissioning of the gold processing plant, tailings storage facility, and the rotational settlement, along with other infrastructure for the future mine.

Toktosunov emphasized that China Nerin Engineering's role is strictly as a contractor. "I would like to specifically note that the Chinese company is only a contractor for the construction of facilities. It will not be involved in gold mining. The development of the Togolok deposit will be carried out by Kumtor Operating Company using its own resources," he clarified.

CJSC "Kumtor Operating Company" reported that China Nerin Engineering, established in 1986, has a strong track record in executing large-scale industrial projects globally. The company specializes in the design and construction of mining, energy, and transport infrastructure. Its project portfolio includes work in Russia, Kazakhstan, Australia, Canada, Germany, Turkey, Chile, Egypt, South Africa, and South Korea. The Togolok deposit is considered one of CJSC "Kumtor Gold Company's" largest investment projects, with estimated reserves of 19 tons and 928 kilograms of gold, being developed entirely with the company's own funds.
