Controversial British provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos arrested by ICE

British far-right commentator Milo Yiannopoulos has been arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at the New Orleans airport, according to U.S. authorities.

Yiannopoulos, 41, legally entered the United States in May 2019 but remained in the country longer than permitted, the Department of Homeland Security stated. An order for his expulsion was issued on July 22.

Notably, Yiannopoulos himself has advocated for stricter immigration policies, including calling for "zero immigration for the next 20 years" on X last year. He has recently been associated with artist Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, who was scheduled to perform in New Orleans on Friday.

Yiannopoulos has a well-documented history of making controversial remarks on subjects such as feminism, Islam, and immigration. He previously served as an editor for the far-right website Breitbart, where he published inflammatory commentary. He resigned from Breitbart in 2017 after expressing views perceived as positive towards pedophilia, for which he has since apologized. His "Troll Academy Tour" in 2017, which involved appearances at universities, also generated significant controversy.
