Córdoba Security Minister claims province safer than Orlando, Florida

Juan Pablo Quinteros, the Security Minister of Córdoba, has asserted that his province boasts lower crime rates than the U.S. city of Orlando, Florida. During a media interview, Quinteros stated that a comparative study conducted by his team indicates Córdoba performs better in "several rates" than the American tourist destination.

"In many rates, we are better than in Disney," Quinteros initially remarked, before clarifying under journalistic questioning, "Better rates than Disney no, but than Orlando yes." He indicated that the results of this comparative analysis between Córdoba's crime indicators and those of Orlando would be presented to those who accuse his administration of living in a fantasy world.

However, the minister has not yet provided specific details regarding the analyzed rates, the time periods covered by the study, or the precise outcomes of the indicators. This assertion comes on the heels of significant criticism directed at Quinteros concerning his role in the investigation into the death of Agostina Vega, a 14-year-old girl whose body was found in an undeveloped area of Córdoba. The case also drew scrutiny towards the justice system and the prosecutor involved for delays in issuing an "Alerta Sofía" (Sofia Alert).

Quinteros had previously faced public attention after a video went viral showing him discussing a football match from his vehicle shortly before a game, while Vega's family had already reported her missing. He later accompanied Governor Martín Llaryora to meet with the teenager's family and addressed his absence during the initial hours of the search, explaining that it was impossible for him to be in multiple places simultaneously.
