Country Star Jelly Roll Files for Divorce After 10 Years of Marriage

Country music star Jelly Roll has initiated divorce proceedings from his wife of 10 years, Bunnie Xo, according to court documents filed in Franklin, Tennessee.

The singer, known for hits like "Hard Fought Hallelujah," cited irreconcilable differences as the grounds for the dissolution of their marriage. The couple, who wed in Las Vegas in 2016, reportedly separated on May 9.

Jelly Roll, whose birth name is Jason DeFord, has been open about his journey overcoming addiction and past legal troubles. Earlier this year, he won three Grammy Awards, including Best Country Album for "Beautifully Broken." During his acceptance speech, he expressed profound gratitude to his wife, podcast host and media producer Alisa DeFord, also known as Bunnie Xo, stating, "I would have never changed my life without you. I would have ended up dead or in jail."

His music often explores themes of adversity, redemption, and overcoming hardship, resonating with diverse audiences. In December, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee granted Jelly Roll a pardon following a wave of support from friends and community leaders. Bunnie Xo, in her February memoir, described Jelly Roll as her "soulmate," attributing their enduring connection to a true bond that has navigated life's ups and downs.
