Camilla Nore and Trygve Utstumo secured their dream home while on a cycling tour in California, a testament to finding opportunities in unexpected places. The couple, who had been working in San Francisco for two years, discovered the listing for a beautiful, albeit neglected, garden city house in Oslo's Skøyen district through an online advertisement.

The property is situated in the Hoffsbyen Garden City, an area originally developed as a more modest, working-class counterpart to the more affluent Ullevål Garden City. Nore recalled a positive impression of the neighborhood from a former colleague who had lived there, describing it as an "unknown gem" within Oslo.

Despite the idyllic facade, the house presented a significant renovation project. Photos revealed signs of neglect, including evidence of nesting birds in the attic and historical elements within the walls, hinting at the extensive work required. The couple's decision to purchase the home sight unseen from across the globe underscores their strong belief in the property's potential and the appeal of the neighborhood.
