Couple moves faithful by distributing free breakfasts to San Judas Tadeo devotees

In Lima's historic center, a couple moved devotees of San Judas Tadeo by distributing free breakfasts to those waiting to venerate the saint. As hundreds of faithful gathered before dawn outside the Basilica and Convent of San Francisco, the couple, accompanied by family members, offered hot drinks and food, making the long wait more bearable.

This initiative, described as a tradition, is carried out annually by the family on July 28. The father explained that multiple generations of his family participate, including his wife, children, parents-in-law, mother, and even their pet, 'Mochita.' He stated, “We always do it, we participate. It is a tradition to share with others.” The act serves as a gesture of gratitude and a demonstration of their faith.

During their visit to the image of San Judas Tadeo, the man shared his profound emotion, calling it "something very beautiful" and expressing hope for positive change in the country. The celebration coincided with a public holiday, increasing attendance. Many attendees offered prayers for the nation's future and expressed hopes that the new government would address pressing issues like security. The family affirmed their commitment to continuing this tradition in the coming years, viewing it as a way to share with pilgrims and live out their faith through solidarity.
