Couple sentenced to 80 years for aggravated kidnapping and murder in Morelos

A couple has been sentenced to 80 years in prison for aggravated kidnapping in Morelos, Mexico. Eudis “N” and María Guadalupe “N” were found responsible for the abduction of a man on April 16, 2023, in the Pueblo Mágico of Xochitepec. The pair demanded a significant ransom for the victim's release.

Tragically, the victim was discovered deceased the day after his abduction on a dirt road in Alpuyeca, Xochitepec. Investigations by the Fiscalía de Investigación de Delitos de Alto Impacto (FIDAI) led to the determination of the couple's involvement. Arrest warrants were issued, but the pair had already fled Morelos.

In May 2023, authorities located Eudis “N” and María Guadalupe “N” hiding in Cárdenas, San Luis Potosí. A joint operation with the Fiscalía General del Estado de San Luis Potosí led to their apprehension. They were subsequently transferred back to Morelos to face charges.

A court found the couple guilty of aggravated kidnapping, sentencing them to 80 years imprisonment. They were also ordered to pay a fine and make reparations for the damages caused. The conviction highlights the severe consequences for such crimes in the region.
