CPBL: Chang Jen-Wei hits another first-inning, first-at-bat home run

CTBC Brothers player Chang Jen-Wei continued his streak of first-inning, first-at-bat home runs on Tuesday, blasting his third of the season against the Rakuten Monkeys. Facing last year's MVP, foreign pitcher Jake Dahlberg, Chang drove the third pitch of the game over the left-field wall for an opening-inning solo shot.

This latest home run sets a new personal record for Chang, who has now hit three home runs this season. Remarkably, all three have followed the exact same script: a first-at-bat blast in the first inning. His previous two home runs were hit on April 21 against the Uni-President Lions' Brock Dykxhoorn and on June 30 against the Wei Chuan Dragons' Drew Gagnon.

Adding to the pattern, all three of Chang's home runs this season have been hit away from home, consistently providing his team with an early lead. In a separate game at the same stadium, the Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium, Fubon Guardians' leadoff hitter Wang Po-Hsuan also hit a first-inning, first-at-bat home run, his first of the season.
