CPBL: TSG’s new foreign pitcher dominates Fubon with five scoreless innings and four strikeouts

TSG Hawks’ newly registered foreign pitcher Wei Fengshan produced an impressive outing in the minor leagues, throwing five scoreless innings against the Fubon Guardians with four strikeouts.

The 36-year-old Venezuelan used 58 pitches, allowed one hit and issued one walk. The game was called after five innings with the teams tied 0-0, but Wei’s ERA remained a perfect 0.

Wei has made two minor-league appearances for a total of six scoreless innings, with six strikeouts and a 0.33 WHIP. Although he has not thrown a pitch in the first team since joining TSG, the Hawks retained him after registering him before the Aug. 31 deadline.

Wei spent six years in Major League Baseball, appearing in 96 games, including 22 starts. He went 7-11 over 151.2 innings with 150 strikeouts and a 5.82 ERA. He also has experience in Asian professional baseball, having previously played in South Korea.
