Island Titans Cricket Club has claimed the season's first silverware, triumphing in the Club Cricket Committee (CCC) 40-over competition. The team secured a decisive victory over Ibeju Lekki Cricket Club by 67 runs at the University of Lagos Cricket Oval, marking a strong start to their campaign.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Island Titans faced early instability, losing key players Rahmon Ali, Dhilesh, and Daniel Ayodele without significant partnerships. However, Amit Singh anchored the innings with a top score of 48 runs off 55 balls. He found crucial support from Isaac Okpe, who remained not out on 46 off 65 balls, including four fours and two sixes. This vital partnership laid a solid foundation, with former Yellow Greens captain Ademola Onikoyi adding a valuable 23 runs, helping the Titans reach a total of 164 all out in 33 overs.

In their chase, Ibeju Lekki struggled to build momentum, with the Island Titans' bowlers consistently taking wickets at regular intervals. Kareem Gafar was the highest scorer for Ibeju Lekki, managing 29 runs off 30 balls, underscoring the batting struggles of his side.

The CCC league, established in 1987 as a four-club competition, has expanded significantly and now features 22 teams across two divisions. Meanwhile, the final round of matches for the 20-overs league's Super Six stage is scheduled for April 18 and 19.
