Croatia women's football team beats Bulgaria 4-0 to top group

Croatia's women's national football team secured first place in Group C of League C with a decisive 4-0 victory over Bulgaria in Pula. This win propels them into League B, continuing their journey in the qualification campaign for the World Cup. Croatia needed a win by at least three goals to claim the top spot in their group and earn promotion, a target they comfortably surpassed. Martina Čavar opened the scoring in the 26th minute. The decisive moments came early in the second half: in the 49th minute, Rudelić provided a brilliant assist to Čanjevac, who scored to make it 2-0. Just two minutes later, in the 51st minute, Čavar netted her second goal of the match, extending Croatia's lead to 3-0. The final score was sealed in the 67th minute by Kurkutović, who scored the fourth goal for a 4-0 final result. In the other match of the final round, Kosovo defeated Gibraltar 8-0. Both Croatia and Kosovo finished the competition with 15 points. The tie-breaker criteria focused on results against Bulgaria and head-to-head matches, excluding games against Gibraltar. Although both teams won their mutual encounters 1-0, Croatia secured the group's top position due to their superior performance against Bulgaria.
