Croatian army joins fight against Dinara wildfire, four aircraft deployed

The Croatian army has been deployed once again to combat a wildfire on Dinara mountain, specifically at Suvi Vrh in the Šibenik-Knin County. In addition to ground forces, four firefighting aircraft from the Croatian Air Force are engaged in the effort, the Ministry of Defense (MORH) reported.

A firefighting platoon was dispatched to the scene on Wednesday to assist firefighters. Croatian soldiers are working in coordination with relevant fire services, with their deployment adjusted based on the evolving situation at the fire site.

Simultaneously, two Canadair CL-415 aircraft from the Croatian Air Force are actively fighting fires in Bosnia and Herzegovina, following a decision by the Croatian government to provide humanitarian assistance to the neighboring country. The MORH noted that the Croatian army continuously supports civilian services in fire suppression throughout the current fire season, deploying both aircraft and ground personnel as needed. The engagement on Dinara underscores the army's readiness to offer support with its personnel and capabilities when the situation demands.
