Croatian divers Martinović and Kokić miss finals at European Championships

Croatian divers Luka Martinović and Maro Kokić did not advance to the finals at the European Aquatics Championships in Paris. The pair competed in the 1-meter springboard preliminaries on the second day of the championships, ultimately finishing outside the qualifying positions.

Martinović, 19, secured 24th place with 273.85 points. He started strong, initially ranking 18th after his first dive, but a series of less successful attempts hindered his progress. Despite improving in his final two dives, he could not overcome the deficit to contend for a spot in the final.

Twenty-one-year-old Kokić faced a similar challenge. After his initial dives placed him 19th, he experienced a dip in performance with two poor attempts. He managed to improve his standing in the fifth and sixth dives, finishing 26th overall with 258.45 points. A total score of 325.20 points was required to qualify for the 12-person final.

The top qualifiers were Jules Bouyer of France, Moritz Wesemann of Germany, and Jordan Houlden of Great Britain. For Kokić, his participation in the European Championships has concluded. Martinović, however, is still scheduled to compete in the synchronized 3-meter springboard event on Monday, partnering with Matej Nevešćanin.
