Croatian forest bathing develops into health and tourism model

Forest bathing in Croatia is being developed as more than just a romantic return to nature; it is becoming a comprehensive health, tourism, and development model. Jasna Vukas, president of the Snaga šume (Power of the Forest) association, is leading this initiative, which aims to harness the therapeutic benefits of forests.

The project focuses on creating certified paths in Radoboj, located in the Zagorje region. These paths are designed to connect the area's natural capital with medical wellness practices and local heritage, offering a unique blend of experiences for visitors.

Vukas views forest bathing not as a fleeting trend but as a rediscovery of an ancient practice forgotten in the rush of modern life. She suggests that the forest environment can provide an antidote to burnout, the pressures of decision-making, and the constant demand for availability that characterizes contemporary living.

This approach seeks to position Croatia as a destination for wellness tourism, leveraging its natural landscapes to address the growing need for mental and physical restoration in an increasingly demanding world.
