Croatian youth charged with drug trafficking, supplying minors

Four young adults in Croatia are facing serious drug-related charges, including trafficking and supplying drugs to minors. The accused, aged between 18 and 26, allegedly operated a drug ring from Čakovec, importing substances like marijuana, amphetamines, synthetic cannabinoids, MDMA, cocaine, testosterone, steroids, and hormones from abroad.

The group is accused of selling drugs for prices ranging from 10 to 220 euros. One of the 18-year-old defendants is also charged with providing a space for drug consumption and selling performance-enhancing drugs, including testosterone, which are banned in sports. He allegedly sold 300 milligrams of testosterone for 50 euros.

Another 26-year-old is accused of facilitating drug deals by connecting buyers and sellers of marijuana on four separate occasions. The prosecution alleges that one of the 18-year-olds ordered drug packages from abroad, using the name of a 19-year-old female defendant or fictitious names. These packages, arriving via various delivery services, contained MDMA, amphetamines, and cocaine.

Both the 19-year-old and one of the 18-year-olds are also accused of giving joints to children. The prosecution has requested an extension of pre-trial detention for three of the defendants, citing the danger of them re-offending. They also seek the confiscation of all illegally acquired assets from the accused.
