Crypto Billionaire Blumer Marries His Partner in Sardinia

Sardinia turned into the stage for an elaborate three-day wedding as cryptocurrency entrepreneur Brendan Blumer and Italian fashion manager Salvatore Spano celebrated with around 300 guests at the Costa Smeralda and in San Pantaleo.

The finale came aboard a ship in a bay, where Chris Martin performed with Coldplay. The previous evening, Italian singer Giorgia provided the entertainment in a white lace dress and invited Spano to join her for a duet. Pop star Laura Pausini also performed during the celebrations.

The wedding was designed as a tribute to Sardinia. San Pantaleo's central square became a traditional Sardinian village, complete with long wooden tables, craft stalls, regional food and traditional clothing. Local artisans and traders took part, while the couple commissioned traditional breads bearing their initials, B and S.

The festivities began on Thursday with a private family ceremony at Blumer's Villa Yamani. Blumer bought the property last year for 160 million euros, in what is considered one of the largest real-estate purchases on the Costa Smeralda. Events then moved through Porto Cervo and Romazzino before reaching San Pantaleo on Saturday.

Local residents were also included in the arrangements. Shops and restaurants that had to close temporarily for the event received compensation, and Blumer and Spano had already donated 1.2 million euros to the local hospital. Security included drones, police officers in civilian clothes and other security personnel. Guests were barred from taking private photographs. The celebration's final spectacle was a 16-metre cake weighing 190 kilograms.
