CSOs back Tinubu, DSS DG, call for rule of law

A coalition of civil society organizations (CSOs) in Nigeria, operating under the banner of the Coalition of Civil Society Organisations for Good Governance in Nigeria, has declared its support for President Bola Tinubu and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Oluwatosin Ajayi. The group conveyed its position during a rally held in Abuja.

We are immensely proud of the leadership displayed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. His Renewed Hope Agenda has introduced bold reforms, and the approval of a new national minimum wage after extensive negotiations shows a President who listens to the concerns of Nigerian workers.

Collins Eshiofeh, the National Chairman of Nigeria Citizens Watch for Good Governance, spoke on behalf of the coalition, issuing a vote of confidence in both President Tinubu and the DSS leadership. Eshiofeh specifically lauded President Tinubu's economic reforms, highlighting the recent approval of a new national minimum wage as a testament to responsive governance and a President who actively listens to the concerns of Nigerian workers.

The coalition also extended its praise to the DSS under Oluwatosin Ajayi's leadership for its ongoing contributions to national security. Eshiofeh emphasized the agency's crucial role in safeguarding the country against various security challenges. The group formally announced its endorsement of both the President and the DSS chief, stating, "On behalf of the Nigerians we represent, this coalition passes a vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Director-General of the DSS, Mr. Oluwatosin Ajayi."
