Cuauhtémoc Mayor's Office Reinforces Preventive Actions for Rain; Clears Nearly 1.7 Kilometers of Drainage

The Cuauhtémoc mayor's office in Mexico City has intensified preventive measures against the rainy season, clearing 1,694 meters of the drainage network. These efforts focused on neighborhoods including Centro, Doctores, Ex Hipódromo de Peralvillo, Morelos, Obrera, Atlampa, and Peralvillo.

The primary goal of the desilting work is to ensure consistent water flow and minimize the likelihood of water accumulation and flooding in the affected areas. Alongside drainage maintenance, the office conducted 93 preventive tree prunings. They also addressed five reports of fallen trees in the Hipódromo and Condesa neighborhoods and removed 10 dry trees that posed a public safety risk.

These actions are supplemented by daily patrols to proactively manage both the hydraulic infrastructure and the urban tree canopy. The "Storm Brigade" remains deployed across all 33 neighborhoods within the demarcation. This team is tasked with responding to citizen reports and mitigating risks associated with heavy rainfall.
