The Cuban leader stated that such aggression would lead to a "bloodbath" and have immeasurable consequences for regional peace and stability.

This warning comes in the wake of reports by Axios, citing classified intelligence, that Cuba has acquired over 300 military drones and is discussing plans to target U.S. military bases, ships, or Florida's Key West. Cuba vehemently denies these claims, asserting that the U.S. is fabricating pretexts for a possible military intervention. President Diaz-Canel took to X (formerly Twitter) to declare that Cuba poses no threat and reiterated his "bloodbath" warning, emphasizing the severe repercussions for the region.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez echoed these sentiments, affirming Cuba's right to self-defense under the UN Charter and international law. The Directorate of Intelligence (DI) was also added to the sanctions list.
