Cupra Born Boosts Range and Tech in Major Update

Cupra is gearing up to launch a refreshed version of its Born electric model, signaling a significant step forward for the brand's EV ambitions. This update promises not just a facelift but a substantial evolution in design, technology, and crucially, driving range, aiming to solidify the Born's position in the competitive electric vehicle market.

The interior is set to receive a major overhaul, with a redesigned dashboard incorporating advanced technological features for a more intuitive user experience. A notable shift includes the return of physical buttons on the steering wheel, a move away from touch controls, which should enhance usability. The digital cockpit sees an upgrade with a larger 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch central infotainment screen running a new Android-based operating system, promising a more seamless and connected driving experience.

Performance and range are at the forefront of the upgrades. The updated Born will offer three distinct powertrain configurations. The base model will provide 190 horsepower with a 58 kWh battery, delivering approximately 450 km of range. The Endurance version steps up with 231 horsepower and a 79 kWh battery, extending the range to up to 600 km. Topping the range is the Born VZ, delivering a potent 326 horsepower, capable of 0-100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds, while also achieving the same impressive 600 km range.
