Cyber University of Foreign Studies partners with KL Law Firm for educational cooperation

Cyber University of Foreign Studies (CUFS) in South Korea has formalized a partnership with KL (KORUS LAW) Law Firm to enhance educational opportunities for Koreans and foreigners. The agreement, signed on July 20, focuses on cultivating specialized legal interpreters and expanding access to education for ethnic Koreans and foreign residents.

It is important to provide educational opportunities for ethnic Koreans and foreigners to settle stably in Korean society and develop their expertise.

The collaboration will involve developing joint educational programs in Korean, foreign languages, translation, and legal interpretation. CUFS and KL Law Firm will also work together to provide legal information and counseling to foreign students, aiding their adaptation to life in South Korea. The partnership aims to contribute to increasing educational opportunities for learners from Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region, and ethnic Koreans.

A key aspect of this agreement is the advancement of CUFS's "Legal Interpreter Micro-degree Program." This program was created in response to the growing demand for professional interpreters in immigration, legal, and judicial processes, driven by an increasing foreign population in South Korea. Graduates of the program will receive a micro-degree from CUFS.

CUFS President Moon Hwi-chang emphasized the importance of providing educational opportunities for ethnic Koreans and foreigners to settle and build careers in South Korea. Go Min-seok, the representative lawyer at KL Law Firm, added, "Legal interpretation is a crucial field for protecting the rights and independence of migrants. Through this agreement, we will actively support practical educational programs that enable ethnic Koreans and migrants to acquire professional skills and become self-reliant."

Cyber University of Foreign Studies is also holding an additional admission period for new and transfer students for the second semester of 2026, from July 30 to August 18. Applications are open to anyone with a high school diploma or higher, regardless of nationality or residence, across 10 departments including English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese-Indonesian, Business Administration, Industrial Safety and Housing Management, Counseling Psychology, and K-Beauty.
