New children's books feature independence hero Kim Gu, community tales, and fairy tale adventures

Marking the 150th anniversary of his birth, a new children's book introduces Baekbeom Kim Gu, a pivotal leader in Korea's fight for independence. The book aims to make his life story accessible to young readers, detailing his transformation from a playful child into a prominent figure in the Donghak Peasant Revolution, an education activist, and a towering leader of the independence movement. Kim Gu himself adopted the pen name Baekbeom, meaning 'the lowest and humblest person.'

'The Nothing Grocery Store 1: The Green Monster's Identity' presents a heartwarming story about a lonely boy named Hyo-jae who discovers the meaning of community through his relationship with an elderly neighbor.
