Dangote Cement, Ibese, FRSC strengthen partnership to advance road safety in Ogun

Dangote Cement Plc's Ibese Plant is reinforcing its commitment to road safety through an enhanced partnership with the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). This renewed collaboration seeks to bolster road safety initiatives and advocacy across Ogun State.

During a courtesy visit by FRSC Ogun State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, and his management team to the plant, both organizations discussed strategies for improving road safety awareness, driver competency, and adherence to regulations. Ogunjobi commended Dangote Cement for its sustained support and contributions to road safety efforts, recognizing the company as a reliable corporate partner.

Ogunjobi emphasized that achieving a culture of safety requires collective action. He proposed the establishment of an FRSC Special Marshal Unit within the Ibese Plant. This unit would serve as a platform for promoting road safety advocacy and best practices among staff and transport operators, supporting specialized driver training and proactive safety campaigns aimed at reducing road crashes.

Road safety is not the responsibility of FRSC alone. It requires collective action from government agencies, private sector organizations, transport operators, and road users. We believe there is significant potential for us to work more closely with Dangote Cement in driving safety awareness and improving compliance with road traffic regulations.
